This 800 m² plot in quiet, side street near Stony Point penguin colony, is part of an extensive late Stone Age archaeological midden and hence requires a site survey by relevant archaeological body. The plot next door underwent this process a few years back so the precedent has already been set and did not overly complicate the build. Bettys Bay is located within the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve which is the first UNESCO declared Biosphere in South Africa – A floral kingdom with one of the most diverse species of flora on the face of the planet. Betty’s Bay is also home to Stony Point penguin colony and nature reserve as well as the magnificent Harold Porter Gardens. There are 3 major swimming beaches in Betty’s Bay being Main Beach and Silver sands plus adjacent beach Doringbaai. There are also numerous intertidal rock pools as well as Jocks Bay, Draadbaai and Boskop sea coves to explore. One can also enjoy one of numerous walks along the high tide buffer zone that connect the various coves to the 2 major beaches and also the quaint Stony Point harbour area.
